Argentina Open, Buenos Aires Prize Money
2025 Breakdown & Historicals
Established in 1927, the Argentina Open is a long-standing tournament that takes place annually in Buenos Aires at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club, a clay court venue known as the Cathedral of Argentinean tennis.
Historically, locals have enjoyed plenty of success, with past champions including David Nalbandian, Juan Monaco, Gaston Gaudio, and Guillermo Coria. However, in 2021, Diego Schwartzman broke Argentina’s 12-year drought by defeating countryman Francisco Cerúndolo in the finals.
In 2025, the total prize money at the Argentina Open reaches its highest point on record at $658,390, equating to €636,282 and $529,870. This represents a 2.45% jump from last year.
The champion will receive $100,160 in singles, while the runner-up will receive 60% of that amount, or $58,420. In both cases, earnings for these prize figures grew 2.5% year over year.
On the doubles side, the winning team will split a check for $34,830, while the pair who loses in the finals will share $18,710. Like singles, these amounts have grown by 26% and 3% compared to last February.
In the following sections, I’ve provided a detailed overview and complete breakdown of the Argentina Open’s prize money and historical data for quick comparison. I’ve also included currency conversions from euros to US dollars and sterling pounds.
Full Breakdown
At a high level, we can divide prize money by event. Singles receive roughly 80% of the purse, and the remaining 20% is allocated to the doubles tournament, which has a smaller draw.
However, we can drill deeper and break things down by round. The further a player progresses, the more they earn. For example, a player who exits the tournament in the first round will earn $6,890, while a player who loses in the quarterfinals will take home $19,425.
The following tables break down prize money by round and provide historical data for reference. I’ve also converted prize money to euros and sterling pounds, which I calculate using the prior year’s exchange rate on the day of the final to approximate its value closely.

Prize Money by Year
Total prize money changes yearly at the Argentina Open, which the tournament’s success heavily influences.
More specifically, ticket sales, sponsorships, merchandise, and concessions play a significant role in the tournament’s revenue, so prize money can suffer when numbers fall short. For example, prize money dropped 17% in 2021 due to the pandemic.
